HOW TO PLAY

🗺️ Explore the town: Move around using WASD keys

💬 Talk to NPCs: Walk up to a character and press SPACE

⚔️ Battle wild monsters: Walk through grass to trigger random encounters Grass tile reference for random encounters

⚔️ During battles: Click attack buttons and click the dialogue box to continue turns. You can also click Run to escape wild battles.

⚔️ Track health: HP text and health bars both update live

BATTLE SYSTEM

• Random encounters can happen in grass (about 1% chance while moving)

• Each move has unique damage, effects, and cooldown

• Reduce enemy HP to 0 to win the fight

• If your active monster faints, switch to another party member

• There is a 10% miss chance and a 10% critical hit chance (2× damage) on every damaging move

🔥 Fireball — 24 dmg · Fire · 35% burn chance · 1 turn cooldown

☠️ Poison Sting — 10 dmg · Poison · 45% poison chance · 1 turn cooldown

Thunder Shock — 11 dmg · Electric · 30% stun chance · 2 turn cooldown

🛡️ Iron Guard — 0 dmg · Steel · Raises your defense for 3 turns · 2 turn cooldown

💊 Recover — 0 dmg · Support · Heals 28 HP · 3 turn cooldown

⚔️ Tackle — 12 dmg · Normal · No cooldown · Always available

Cooldown: A move on cooldown shows (CD X) on its button and is greyed out. It becomes usable again after enough turns pass.

STATUS EFFECTS

🔥 Burn — Deals 8% of max HP as damage at the start of each turn. Lasts 3 turns. Shown in red under the health bar.

☠️ Poison — Deals 10% of max HP as damage at the start of each turn for 4 turns. Shown in red.

Stun — The affected monster loses its next turn entirely and cannot attack. Shown in red.

🛡️ Defense Up — Reduces incoming damage. Each stage reduces damage by 25% (max 3 stages). Shown in blue. Wears off after 3 turns.

💡 Tip: A monster that faints from burn or poison damage at the start of its turn will not get to use its move that turn.

💡 Damage tip: Poison Sting deals direct hit damage first, then poison status damage happens at the start of later turns.

PARTY SYSTEM

👥 In battle: You will see your 3 party members on the right side

🔄 During battle: Press 1, 2, or 3 to switch monsters

⏱️ Turn rule: Switching during your normal turn uses your turn, then the enemy gets to act.

💀 When your active monster faints: Click the dialogue box or press 1-3 to switch to another party monster.

📈 Track progress: Each party monster has its own HP, level, and XP during your current session.

Experience: The currently active monster gets XP after a win (wild fights: +30 XP, level up at 100 XP; trainer rewards may vary).

💾 Save data: Current auto-save stores total battles won.

TIPS

🌟 Avoid grass when you want fewer random battles

🌟 Talk to everyone. Some NPCs can challenge you to trainer battles
